The Calm at Buntzen is an atmospheric exploration of light, shadow, and the grandeur of the Pacific Northwest. Working in oil on canvas, I sought to bridge the dense, dark evergreen forests with the luminous, mist-laden waters of Buntzen Lake. Rich teals and deep indigos ground the composition. These heavy tones give way to a soft, glowing sky breaking through overcast clouds. Through expressive and textured brushwork, I captured the shifting, atmospheric weight of the scene. The painting acts as a visual invitation to experience a moment of profound natural silence and calm.
